Executive Director (Part-Time)
Amana Arts Guild | Approx. 20 Hours per Week | $15-20/hr

Position Overview
The Executive Director of Amana Arts Guild is responsible for the overall administration, financial management, program execution, and fundraising efforts of the organization. This part-time leadership role (approximately 20 hours per week) requires a dynamic individual with strong organizational skills, financial acumen, and a passion for the arts and community engagement. The Executive Director will also oversee volunteer coordination, grant writing, and membership development to support the Guild’s growth and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Administration & Financial Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nonprofit, ensuring compliance with all legal and financial requirements.
Manage payroll, taxes, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, including preparing monthly financial updates for the Board.
Maintain accurate records of memberships, donations, and grant funding.
Manage communications, including developing and distributing newsletters, membership updates, and public announcements.
Attend and provide updates at monthly Board of Directors meetings.
Program, Event, & Volunteer Management
Plan and execute annual fundraising events in collaboration with board members and/or board committees, including but not limited to the Arts Festival, Plein Air, Haus Walk, communal meals, and classes.
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support events, gallery operations, and organizational needs.
Develop and manage an annual calendar of events and coordinate a marketing schedule for promotion.
Collaborate with volunteers, artists, and community members to enhance event participation and engagement.
Grant Writing & Fundraising
Identify and apply for grants to support operations, programming, and special projects.
Manage reporting and compliance for awarded grants.
Assist in developing sponsorship opportunities and cultivating donor relationships.
Retail & Artist Relations
Work at Gallery on Main as a sales associate, assisting with retail operations and customer service.
Manage monthly payments to artists featured in the gallery.
Support marketing and promotional efforts to drive gallery sales and engagement.
Membership Growth & Community Engagement
Maintain and expand the membership program, including outreach, renewals, and engagement initiatives.
Foster relationships with local businesses, media, and community organizations to enhance visibility and support.
Provide the annual events calendar and marketing plan to the social media contractor for execution.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in nonprofit administration, arts management, event planning, or related fields preferred.
Strong financial management skills, including bookkeeping and budgeting.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Experience in volunteer coordination and grant writing is a plus.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a board and volunteers.
Comfort with technology, including email marketing tools, basic design programs, and accounting software.
Passion for the arts and community development.
Compensation & Work Environment
This is a part-time position (approx. 20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule.
Work is a combination of on-site hours at Gallery on Main, event coordination, and remote administrative tasks.
Compensation is based on experience and available funding. $15-20/hour
