Job Summary:

The Mission Impact Manager is responsible for building and leading the Texas Diaper Bank’s Mission Impact Collective, a community engagement program that mobilizes volunteers, corporate groups, schools, faith organizations, and civic leaders to advance the organization’s mission of ensuring every Texan has access to essential hygiene products.

This is a working manager position that combines hands-on volunteer leadership, warehouse operations, community engagement, and partnership development. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating in both a warehouse environment and community-facing settings while serving as an ambassador for the Texas Diaper Bank mission.

The Mission Impact Manager serves as the primary leader of all volunteer engagement activities and is responsible for creating meaningful opportunities for community members to support the Texas Diaper Bank through service, advocacy, and philanthropy. As the Mission Impact Collective grows, this position will develop core volunteer leaders who provide ongoing facilitation support, deepen community partnerships, and strengthen organizational impact.

Volunteer Operations & Compliance:

•    Lead all volunteer shifts Tuesday through Saturday, facilitating compliant product repackaging operations for diapers, menstrual products, and adult incontinence products in accordance with Texas Medical Device Salvage Establishment License requirements

•    Deliver volunteer orientations and mission briefings at the start of every shift, ensuring a safe, productive, and mission-centered experience

•    Develop and deliver mandatory shift training covering safety protocols, product handling procedures, damage recognition, and resealing techniques

•    Ensure volunteers perform only authorized activities — sorting, counting, and resealing — while staff retain sole authority for all destruction and quality control decisions

•    Maintain comprehensive volunteer records and training documentation in CERVIS per organizational and regulatory requirements

•    Complete all volunteer shift records in CERVIS within 24 hours of each shift

•    Coordinate volunteer support for client distributions, community events, disaster response activations, and other mission-driven initiatives

•    Manage volunteer conduct concerns and dismissal processes professionally and consistently

•    Issue volunteer service verification documentation to individuals, schools, and corporate groups upon request

Core Volunteer Leadership Development:

•    Identify, recruit, and develop a core group of highly engaged volunteer leaders who commit to a regular schedule and provide ongoing facilitation support during shifts

•    Develop onboarding materials, role expectations, and training resources for core volunteer leaders

•    Host quarterly gatherings with core volunteer leaders to share organizational updates, field questions, recognize contributions, and deepen their connection to the mission

Community & Corporate Engagement:

•    Serve as the primary point of contact for all prospective and active volunteer groups, managing inquiries, scheduling, and ongoing relationship stewardship

•    Cultivate new volunteer partnerships through targeted outreach, community events, volunteer fairs, and organizational referrals

•    Build and maintain a prospective volunteer group pipeline through proactive outreach to corporations, civic organizations, and community groups

•    Send a personalized impact summary to all volunteer group contacts within five business days of their visit, highlighting hours contributed and products processed, with an invitation to support the mission through financial or in-kind giving

•    Represent the Texas Diaper Bank at community events, volunteer fairs, networking opportunities, and public engagement activities

Volunteer Stewardship & Retention:

•    Design and implement a milestone recognition system that acknowledges volunteers at significant service thresholds through certificates, branded giveaways, or personalized acknowledgment

•    Track volunteer birthdays and anniversaries in CERVIS and deliver timely, personalized recognition for each

•    Develop and distribute a regular volunteer newsletter to maintain engagement, share mission impact, and recognize outstanding volunteers and groups

•    Maintain a volunteer recognition display in the volunteer workspace that celebrates collective impact and individual milestones

•    Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events to celebrate contributions and strengthen long-term engagement

Warehouse Operations & Supply Management:

•    Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming volunteer workspace, ensuring safety equipment, repackaging supplies, and tools are in place and ready before each shift

•    Track volunteer area supply inventory accurately and proactively manage ordering to prevent shortages

•    Manage the volunteer area supply budget, monitoring costs and identifying efficiencies without compromising repackaging quality

•    Partner with the Director of Resources to coordinate product repackaging needs, secure adequate product in advance of each shift, and ensure accurate count reconciliation and product labeling before returning finished product

•    Perform routine maintenance of repackaging equipment to ensure operational readiness between shifts

Program Administration & Reporting:

•    Develop and maintain volunteer program policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures

•    Manage the volunteer program budget, including recognition events, appreciation activities, and core leader program expenses

•    Track and report volunteer group activity, including inquiry volume, shift fill rates, cancellations, and new versus returning group participation

•    Generate monthly volunteer impact reports for the Chief of Advancement and Programs

•    Participate actively in San Antonio Volunteer Administrators (SAVA) for professional development, networking, and best practices in volunteer management

•    Represent the volunteer program in internal staff meetings and organizational planning discussions

•    Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational priorities

Advancement & Partnership Support:

•    Identify volunteers and community partners with potential interest in financial or in-kind support and refer qualified opportunities to Advancement staff

•    Collaborate with Advancement staff to strengthen volunteer-to-donor and volunteer-to-advocate pathways

•    Provide volunteer impact data, success stories, and community engagement outcomes to support fundraising, grant writing, marketing, and communications efforts

Required Qualifications:
