Job Summary:
The Senior Ministry Advancement Counselor serves as a strategic link between committed supporters and the global mission of Lutheran Hour Ministries. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will manage a dedicated portfolio of approximately 130 households, helping donors discover the joy of giving through both immediate and planned gifts. This role utilizes current skills and life experiences that can be transferred to a development and ministry capacity.
As a faith-based position, the successful candidate must be a Christian who is committed to the mission of the Gospel. This role transforms traditional development into a high-level ministry of relationships. You will work collaboratively to foster a culture of generosity, aligning the passions of donors with the long-term vision of the organization. Within your region, you will have the distinct privilege of engaging in prayerful, mission-focused planning, helping individuals translate their resources into a lasting spiritual legacy that secures the future of the Gospel for generations to come.

Responsibilities
- Assumes full responsibility for activities and programs assigned by the Chief Development Officer, Major & Planned Gifts.
- Raise funds at a major gifts level (gifts of $75,000 and greater) in support of the ministry. Aim to achieve mutually established annual goals, focusing on four key areas: number of expected donor visits, solicitations, donor pipeline development, and total funding to be raised for the ministry.
- Serves as the Lutheran Hour Ministries representative and direct contact to planned gift partnerships of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Foundation in the assigned region.
- Serves as resource to other Constituent Services staff members
- Promotes the Hoffmann Society to prospective planned gift donors to strengthen enrollment in the program.
- Professionally stewards all donors and co-worker relationships.
- Executes additional job-related responsibilities as needed.
- A deep appreciation for and an ability to successfully articulate the mission and values of Lutheran Hour Ministries
- Bachelor’s degree – or – equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated ability to foster meaningful connections, drawing from experience in professional roles building direct relationship-based partnerships or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Demonstrated proficiency using technology to make presentations and manage prospect contact documentation
- Available for extensive travel and able to work a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends and evenings
- Well organized and a good administrator; able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to work in a system that emphasizes results
- Excellent communication skills (writing, public speaking, and individually)
Preferred Qualifications
- CFRE, other certification, or experience commensurate to provide knowledge of fundraising programs at this level
- Member of a Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation or a Christian church.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, and certifications.
