Position: Ministry Assistant – Tenth East Van

Our Tenth East Van site is looking for a Ministry Assistant who will plan, develop, coordinate, and manage the ministry teams for their site.

Ways You Will Contribute:

Sunday Service elements:

Assist with set up and tear down

Transport, clean, and organize supplies required for the East Van site

Perform administrative tasks for community life events such as Connections Meals, Volunteer Appreciations, Family Chat Café, Baptisms, Life Group launches, Community Meals, Socials, etc.

Service

Team Support

:

Ensure that volunteer teams are well equipped and coordinated

Assure all Sunday service elements are well scheduled and executed from set up to tear down

Collaborate with the Site Pastor and East Van team to recruit, train, and care for volunteers on Sunday teams

Tenth Staff Team Participation:

Attend Sunday review and planning meetings (1hr)

Participate in Supervisory meetings with Site Pastor (30 min bi-weekly)

Attend periodic Wednesday staff meetings (approx. 1/month)

Other duties:

Ensure needed material and supplies are brought to service on Sundays, i.e. Mugs, communion bread, curriculum/program material, decorations, etc.

Help coordinate and execute special events such as Christmas Eve, Easter, Site Retreats (3 days), etc.

Occasionally lead announcements, communion, and benediction

Occasionally provide administrative support to the Site Pastor and the East Van team

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative role or related role preferred

Experience in overseeing and managing projects, streamlining processes is an asset

Desire to exercise effective leadership and discipleship of volunteer team members by nurturing relationships

Intermediate proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams or similar platforms

Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate people to become involved in service and leadership

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative style

Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve and engage in conflict resolution. Able to give and receive candid feedback

Spiritual maturity and evidence of having been engaged in ongoing, personal spiritual formation

A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required to perform weekly tasks

Must obtain Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

This is a part-time position where you will work 12 hours per week.

Salary is commensurate with experience. The salary range is $11,232.00 per annum to $12,480 per annum.
