Role Description

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Membership & Programs Manager to support our mission by overseeing educational initiatives, membership engagement, and visitor experience. This role plays a vital part in planning, developing, and administering programs that enhance audience engagement and expand our membership base.

Qualifications

  • Experience in program management, event coordination, or membership development
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and tools, particularly in event promotion and membership campaigns
  • Proficiency in using membership databases, CRM tools, or related software
  • General knowledge or interest in photographic arts and cultural institutions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Arts Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous nonprofit or museum experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Membership & Development:

  • Create and maintain membership kits (letters, cards, brochures) and oversee renewals, member communication, and tracking.
  • Develop membership-related budgets and track growth through Little Green Light.
  • Along with Director of Operations & Marketing, organize exclusive members-only activities such as FMoPA’s Click! Photo Club.

Visitor Experience & Engagement:

  • Train, supervise, and schedule guest services volunteers, docents, and interns to ensure exceptional customer service and visitor engagement.
  • Along with front desk staff assist in the administration and expansion of memberships to provide an enriching experience for all visitors.
  • Assist with museum event planning and execution.

Education & Public Programs:

  • In collaboration with the team, develop and coordinate educational initiatives, including workshops, field trips, and group visits, to engage diverse audiences.
  • Organize and schedule classes, workshops, and other educational programming.
  • Work closely with the website manager to ensure accurate and timely updates for recurring and new classes.
  • Manage student and instructor relations, including correspondence, reminders, and scheduling.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in museum education, membership, nonprofit development, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with community partners.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Google Workspace
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities.

Position Details:

  • Salary: $30,000 – $35,000 | Hours to be discussed
  • Schedule: Must be available to work weekends, with flexible weekday hours as needed.
