The Role

In this role, you will develop and implement strategies to engage community members, organizations, and stakeholders to promote health initiatives and improve overall community health. Your Impact
Develop and implement community engagement strategies to foster strong relationships with community members, organizations, and stakeholders.
Plan, organize, and execute community events, health fairs, and outreach programs to promote Umpqua Health’s initiatives and services.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and distribute educational materials and resources that address community health needs.
Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders to support health equity and social justice initiatives.
Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback from community members to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted interventions.
Represent Umpqua Health at community meetings, events, and forums to share information and gather insights on community needs and priorities.
Coordinate volunteer activities and manage volunteer programs to support community engagement efforts.
Track and report on community engagement activities, including participation metrics, outcomes, and impact assessments.
Utilize social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to share updates and promote community events and initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by management needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Your Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Communications, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent work and education experience.
Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or related roles, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
Strong understanding of health equity, social determinants of health, and community-based interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in planning and executing community events and programs.
Proficiency in using social media and other digital communication tools for community outreach.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Knowledge of the local community and existing community resources is a plus.
Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
