Medical Receptionist
Due to Practice Growth, AVAM Cancer & Blood Specialists is looking for a full-time Medical Receptionist to provide high quality care to patients at our Alexandria and Mount Vernon clinics. The desired candidate must be able to multi-task and have great customer service skills. We are looking for a team player with strong skill sets and work experience in a fast pace working setting. Spanish speaking is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Primary Duties Include:
Interact with patients and relatives in a positive, caring, and friendly manner
Check patients in/out
Schedule new and follow up appointments for multiple providers/treatments
Answer Phone/Voicemail
Verification of insurance
Manage the flow of patients
Track high-risk referrals, imaging, and lab results
Collect and document patient vitals in EHR system
Help assist team members with flow
Transport inventory to and from locations when needed
Requirements:
Experience working as a team member in a healthcare environment
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy medical office environment
Pleasant and outgoing personality
Strong attention to detail
Computer proficiency – word, excel, outlook/teams
NextGen experience a PLUS
Spanish-speaking is required

High school or equivalent
License/Certification:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred)
Experience:
Medical Office Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Vital Signs Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
EMR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
