Our employer, a Jewish non-profit organization, is seeking to hire a Communications & Media Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications & Media Manager will play a vital role in the management andstrategic planningof the organization’scommunicationby bringing a combination of marketing and business acumen,leadershipand influencing skills. The Communications & Media Manager is responsible for overseeing allcommunicationwhile providing critical insights to support the organization’s mission and growth.
The Communications & Media Manager collaborates closely withsenior leadershipto guide decisions and manage resources efficiently.
They will produce all internal and external communications in North America for partners, stakeholders, and an international team and have a strong understanding of the non-profit sector and fundraising.
The position is remote, and therefore, the candidate will need to have a quiet place from which to work in a productive way. The candidate will need to be available and online Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm, and from time to time, attend meetings in the Greater Toronto area. Evening and weekend work may be required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Internal and External Communications- The Communications and Social Media Manager will oversee the development of engaging content and written materials for internal audiences and external stakeholders, including newsletters, presentations, proposals, reports, and targeted marketing materials.
Technology -Must be technologically savvy and eager to learn new platforms. Experienced with design tools and have knowledge of web design and online marketing tools. Stay updated on the latest digital technologies and social media trends. Understanding of KPIs, web traffic metrics and SEO.
Social Media– Must comprehensively understand various social media platforms and how to optimize content for maximum engagement. Generate and publish content to support and promote donor retention and giving, including online interaction. Develop social media strategies to increase our brand’s presence across online platforms and measure the success.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum five years experience in marketing and communications, including two years experience in a non-profit environment
Ability to observe strict confidentiality
Consistent ability to demonstrate positive and professional behavior

Demonstrating a proactive mindset and tendency to take initiative
Ability to positively adapt to and manage change
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to work with minimal supervision
Proficiency and a high comfort level with technology, as well as the ability and interest to learn new technologies.
Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation andcommunication skills
Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels
Knowledge and understanding of nonprofit organizations’ communications and marketing
Knowledge of Word Press, Constant Contact, Canva (or other design software), Google Analytics and Hootsuite.
