Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dietary Cook to join our team in providing nutritious and delicious meals for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness within the kitchen. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and ensuring that dietary needs are met in accordance with established guidelines.
Duties
Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
Collaborate with the dietary department to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
Provide support to dietary aides and other kitchen staff during meal service.
Monitor food quality and presentation before serving to residents.
Participate in regular training sessions on food safety and kitchen best practices.
Qualifications
Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
Experience as a dietary aide or in meal preparation is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, staff, and management effectively.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and dietary requirements.
