Position Overview
Recovery Connections is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Marketing & Development Coordinator to lead day-to-day communications efforts and support fundraising initiatives.
This role is primarily responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s communications strategy, ensuring our message, impact, and voice are consistently and effectively shared across all platforms. The coordinator will drive content creation, digital engagement, and storytelling, while also supporting development efforts that strengthen donor relationships and resource growth.
This is an ideal role for a strong communicator who is passionate about using storytelling and digital media to advance mission-driven work, with an interest in supporting fundraising and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communications
- Lead execution of the organization’s communications strategy across digital platforms
- Develop, write, and manage content for social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and website updates
- Create compelling storytelling content, including participant success stories, program highlights, and impact narratives
- Maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and visual identity across all communications
- Oversee the content calendar and ensure timely, strategic communications aligned with organizational priorities
- Monitor and analyze engagement metrics (social media, email, website) and adjust strategies accordingly
- Coordinate the design and production of marketing materials (digital and print), working with internal or external partners as needed
- Make website updates as needed
Development & Fundraising Support
- Assist in executing fundraising campaigns, including appeals, giving days, and donor communications
- Draft donor-facing materials such as appeal letters, stewardship emails, and impact reports
- Support donor engagement and stewardship efforts, including acknowledgments and ongoing communications
- Maintain accurate donor records in CRM/database systems
- Assist in identifying and preparing content for grant applications and reports
- Support logistics and communications for fundraising events and initiatives
Events & Engagement
- Support promotion and communications for fundraising events
- Assist with event planning logistics, including sponsor engagement and follow-up
- Represent Recovery Connections at community events, as needed
Data, Reporting & Coordination
- Track communications performance and campaign effectiveness, providing regular reports and insights
- Support tracking of fundraising activities and outcomes
- Maintain organized systems for content, contacts, and project timelines
- Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, data, and impact information for communications
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree, and/or 2-4 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or nonprofit development
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing social media platforms and email marketing tools, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, Sprout Social and Mailchimp
- Basic graphic design experience (e.g., Canva)
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 360
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or nonprofit management
- Experience in nonprofit communications or mission-driven organizations
- Familiarity with donor databases/CRMs (e.g. Bloomerang)
- Interest in or connection to recovery, behavioral health, or community-based services
