Compensation: $22/hour

Homesteads for Hope is a 501c3 non-profit Community Farm and Future Housing Village nestled on 55 acres along the historic Erie Canal in Rochester, NY. Founded by a mother and daughter team with a mission to support other families, our organization has truly evolved into a nurturing community where people of all abilities thrive, finding purpose and belonging in nature’s classroom. Founded in 2013, Homesteads for Hope is rapidly growing and entering an exciting phase of expansion. As a nonprofit, we offer ample opportunities for growth and innovation. We are looking for a team member who can collaborate across departments, deeply understand our mission, and help share our story with the world. As leaders in the Care Farming Movement (Care Farming Network), we are committed to expanding our programs and increasing our impact in the community.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing Coordinator to help tell our story and grow our impact. This role is part of our Development team and will be responsible for branding, digital & print communications, fundraising support, and outreach. The ideal candidate has an empathetic voice, believes in our mission, and is interested in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This position will report to the Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture photos and videos around the farm to showcase our mission
Manage branding, communications, and social media content. Develop an annual marketing calendar.
Write newsletters, marketing emails, and press releases, and make sure our story is out there.
Maintain and update the website (SquareSpace)
Coordinate with media and secure news opportunities
Support digital campaign planning
Assist our Outreach Coordinator with community outreach at events and with corporate groups as needed
Support IT communication systems and basic troubleshooting
Support donor relationships, sponsorship solicitations, and sponsor marketing benefits
Assist with database management (Neon One) and donor acknowledgments
Provide event support, including fundraising efforts
Design marketing materials using Canva
Make outreach calls to thank donors and engage new supporters
Willingness to learn and participate in fundraising efforts
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience with social media management, digital marketing, and content creation
Strong writing, proofreading, and public speaking skills
Willingness to engage directly with donors and community members
Experience with Canva, SquareSpace, and donor databases preferred
Passion for working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities
Past experience working with or volunteering at nonprofits is preferred
