About Us:

Aisha Fatima Community is a small, women-led nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing faith, sisterhood, and community among Muslim women. Now in our third year, we are looking for someone with social media and marketing experience who aligns with our values to help amplify our message and support our growth.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a mission-driven Marketing Coordinator who will be responsible for creating and managing all aspects of our online presence. The ideal candidate understands the importance of storytelling, consistency, and engagement — and is someone who thrives both independently and within a small, purpose-driven team.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate with leadership to align content with programs, values, and vision

Develop and manage a monthly content calendar across all social media platforms (primarily Instagram, Facebook and TikTok)

Manage website and monthly newsletter creation

Support digital fundraising, awareness campaigns, and special initiatives

Ensure posts are delivered and scheduled on time — including reminders and reposts

Brainstorm with content creator to help create, design, and post engaging content including event promotions, behind-the-scenes highlights, community stories, and Islamic reflections alongside content creator

Identify, propose and develop internal/external ideas and initiatives to help promote general awareness of the organization in circles in and out of the Chicagoland area

Track and report social media analytics monthly to measure reach and engagement; develop strategies to grow both

Collaborate with all team members to ensure consistency in messaging across channels

Attend select in-person events to capture photo and video content

Proactively engage with followers and community members via DMs, comments, and reposts

Participate in weekly and monthly team check-ins to maintain alignment

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience managing social media (nonprofit or mission-based experience preferred)

Experience in graphic design (Canva proficiency required)

Strong written communication skills

Excellent time management and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong interpersonal communication and alignment with Islamic values

Familiarity with Instagram & Facebook insights, scheduling tools, and growth strategies

Able to commit to a hybrid role (larger in-person event and meeting attendance required)
