Overview
Job Summary
Oversees the overall strategic and operational aspects of the nonprofit team members, programs, marketing and growth and the execution of the organization’s mission. Requires a deep knowledge of the organization, programs, operations and business plans. Develops program goals and objectives; documents outcomes and activities; and administers program budget. Assists with identifying the preventive health and health promotion needs of the community. Coordinates direct service and administrative functions and serves as a resource person for team members within the department and in the community.
Essential Functions
Coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of Health Promotion Programs and Services.
Collaborates with internal and external partners; develops marketing campaigns and programs that targets specific consumers with the right messages based on campaign or project objectives.
Monitors and ensures marketing and communications campaigns and health education programs effectiveness; develops recommendations to improve performance and delivery of the campaigns or programs.
Works closely with program evaluation to model and improve communications strategies and program delivery.
Provides professional, technical, administrative, budgetary management/direction and support of program team members; manages all Health Education Program annual budgets.
Develops, coordinates and facilitates health communication, marketing, public relations, media advocacy and community outreach strategies for the health education program and overall organization.
Develops and monitors goals, outcome and process objectives, coordinates program implementation, and reviews/monitors progress.
Serves as a role model in all aspects of job performance and human relationship skills.
Allocates resources to meet communications and marketing needs and health promotion program needs.
Develops and or manages grants and contracts.
Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work required. Requires periods of prolonged sitting, reading and composing written documents. Must be able to drive and have access to a personal vehicle. Requires reading materials, critical thinking and ability to concentrate required. Must be able to respond quickly to change.
Education, Experience And Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Public Relations, Communications and Master’s Degree in a related field required. 5 years experience in policy, communications or human services related field required. Excellent written or verbal skills required. Ability to set clear goals and execute projects from start to finish required. Valid Drivers License.
