Working in alignment with IDSF Habithonstim in Israel, we raise funds for strategic projects that enhance Israel’s defense profile and national resilience. As we establish this newly formed organization in the U.S., we seek dedicated professionals to build a robust and effective fundraising operation supported by the experience and success of IDSF Habithonistim in Israel.

Major Gift Officer

Position Overview:

This position is open to candidates who live in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, Florida, Texas, California, and Georgia.

The Major Gift Officer will be responsible for managing a portfolio of individual donors and prospects, focusing on securing significant contributions to advance the organization’s mission. This role requires a strategic, relationship-driven approach to donor engagement, with an emphasis on personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Cultivation & Solicitation:
Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift prospects ($10,000+ level).
Develop tailored strategies for engaging and soliciting major donors.
Conduct donor meetings, including one-on-one visits, presentations, and fundraising events.
Work closely with organizational leadership to craft compelling funding opportunities.
Relationship Management & Stewardship:
Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with donors, ensuring meaningful engagement and recognition.
Provide personalized updates, impact reports, and ongoing communication to major donors.
Plan and execute stewardship events and donor appreciation initiatives.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work in partnership with the development team, and executive leadership, to advance fundraising goals.
Coordinate with program staff to align donor interests with organizational priorities.
Support campaign strategies, planned giving, and special fundraising initiatives.
Data Management & Reporting:
Maintain accurate donor records, track interactions, and document engagement strategies in the CRM system.
Prepare reports and analysis on donor activity and fundraising performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Deep concern for what is currently happening in Israel, and an understanding or readiness to learn about Israel’s defense needs.
2+ years of experience in major gifts fundraising, nonprofit development, or related fields.
Proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts.
Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to craft compelling donor proposals and communications.
Comfortable making direct asks and engaging donors in meaningful conversations.
Experience with CRM systems and Google Workspace
Ability to travel for donor meetings and events as needed.

Pay: $70,737.00 – $89,297.00 per year
