The Epoch Times, a 501(c)(3) organization, is actively looking for a dynamic Major Gifts Officer (MGO) to enhance relationships with our dedicated donors who share our commitment to honest journalism. This role involves on-the-road responsibilities, where the MGO will need to show initiative, strong communication skills, and strategic thinking. The MGO will also use donor management systems and effective cultivation and solicitation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a deepening relationship with our organization.
- Secure major gifts at the $1,000 to $500,000 level.
- Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects, including our donor database and wealth screening tools.
- Cultivate, develop, and steward a portfolio of approximately 100 existing donors.
- Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and help with donor communications.
- Assist with the coordination of donor events and outreach, as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of successful nonprofit fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing individual and major gifts.
- Proficient in donor database management, prospect research, and wealth screening tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal proficiency, capable of motivating individuals to take action.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to follow through on promises.
- Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships within and outside the organization.
- Enthusiastic and committed to The Epoch Times’ mission, with a willingness to travel as needed.
Pay range: The annual base pay range for this role is between $80,000 and $120,000. The quoted salary range represents our good-faith estimate as to what our candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range according to the selected candidate’s experience, location, technical skills, and other factors.
