Wisconsin Community Services is seeking a passionate and strategic Major Gift Officer to join our Development and Communications Team. This role involves cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of major donors and prospects to support our mission of serving individuals and families impacted by behavioral health challenges, justice involvement, and systemic barriers.

Job Responsibilities:
The Major Gift Officer will:
Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, developing personalized engagement strategies.
Conduct discovery calls and meetings to assess philanthropic interests and qualify prospects.
Lead major gift solicitations, collaborating with leadership to align donor passions with organizational priorities.
Engage and steward members of Wisconsin Community Services’ giving societies, developing tailored recognition and involvement opportunities.
Build relationships with new prospects, moving them through the cultivation cycle.
Develop and implement stewardship strategies to retain and grow donor support.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree.
At least three years of experience in a professional fundraising role with individual donors, foundations, and corporations.
Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of the philanthropic community in metro Milwaukee.
Additional Information:
This role reports to the Director of Development and Communication and requires frequent community travel. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, along with high ethical standards.
