Full Job Description
Position Title: Logistics Coordinator
Reports To: Craig Jenkins, Board President, Urban Surf 4 Kids
Hours & Compensation:
· $20 per hour
· Up to 20 hours per week, primarily supporting weekend events with occasional weekday work as needed.
Position Summary:
This position reports directly to the Board President and supports the program and development departments with logistics, event preparation, equipment maintenance, and transportation needs. The Logistics Coordinator will assist with various operational tasks for Urban Surf 4 Kids’ events and programs, working primarily on weekends, with some weekday work as needed. The role involves supporting surf therapy camps, mentoring events, and other special activities, primarily held outdoors on the beach, in public settings, and near bodies of water. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate the receipt of in-kind donations. The candidate must be comfortable working independently and managing their own time effectively.
Essential Job Duties:
· Oversee and maintain vehicle service, ensuring vehicles are ready for event use.
· Rent, drive, load, and unload trucks (such as U-Hauls) to support donation pick-ups, equipment transport, and event set-up.
· Coordinate and facilitate the receiving of in-kind donations, ensuring all donations are logged, stored, and distributed appropriately.
· Maintain an updated inventory system for equipment in the warehouse, coordinating repairs and restocking needs as necessary.
· Support fundraising and program-related events, including managing event logistics, transportation, catering pick-up, and other errands.
· Coordinate load lists for events, ensuring all necessary equipment is packed and transported as needed.
· Launder rash guards and linens after events and ensure surf boards and wetsuits are cleaned regularly.
· Assist with any miscellaneous tasks required for program and event preparation.
· Provide proactive assistance in planning and event setup to ensure smooth operations.
Education / Training:
· High School Diploma or GED preferred
· College preferred
· Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (DMV printout required)
· Background check (fingerprint) required
· Ability to lift, squat, walk, bend, and carry 50+ pounds of equipment
· Self-starter with attention to detail
· Strong organizational skills
· Compassion for working with children overcoming trauma
· Mandated child abuse reporter certification (provided upon hire)
Special Requirements:
· Some evening and weekend hours required, with a focus on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, primarily from May through October.
· Availability for occasional weekday work as needed.
· Comfort working independently, managing tasks and time with minimal supervision.
