LKC: Kanbe’s Volunteer Program Specialist VISTA Jobs in Missouri at AmeriCorps
In the initial phase, the VISTA will learn the mechanics of the present operations. This will include learning about food procurement, quality control standards, the Kanbe’s volunteer experience, warehouse operations and usage of warehouse equipment and tools. For Kanbe’s to achieve its growth goals, two milestones must be explored and strategically designed: 1) how to increase capacity for more volunteers in each scheduled event of a given day and 2) strategic design of concurrent volunteer experiences. This will require some hands-on research, leadership, design implementation and evaluation alongside the Redirection team. In this objective, the VISTA will learn existing systems in theory and practice producing an evaluation before engaging in new development. The VISTA will use their gained experience to develop a strategic growth plan alongside the Volunteer staff team.
Member Duties : Kanbe’s is looking for a Volunteer Program Specialist to support the next phase of growth for new programs. This is a warehouse-based role to support efforts to process 25% more rescued food in 2025 than the year prior through our innovative Redirection practices. This role will work closely with volunteers and will handle produce and uphold strict quality control guidelines. This will require a variety of skills both social, organizational, physical, and administrative to help Kanbe’s reach this next milestone. The member will create a plan for strategic growth of the program alongside program staff.
