The USDA defines “low food access” as a home without access to fresh produce within ½ mile. This affects many families across Kansas City, leaving them without affordable, quality food. Kanbe’s Markets is committed to restoring that access by working with neighborhoods to supply affordable produce. Kanbe’s Markets’ development team relies on a strong network of corporate partners throughout the region to expand our operations. Corporations play a key role in our fundraising strategy, bridging grants, individual donations, and event efforts. This position presents an exciting opportunity to help build corporate fundraising infrastructure during a pivotal growth phase for a food security nonprofit. Kanbe’s Markets is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to: expand our corporate prospect list and create a personalized approach to outreach; develop a streamlined process for onboarding corporate volunteers and engaging them on social media; and developing strategic communication materials for corporate donor education and welcome events.
Member Duties : The VISTA will enhance Kanbe’s corporate partnership efforts by improving the volunteer process, expanding corporate prospect research, and refining contact data management. They will assess how Kanbe’s connects with corporate partners, identifying ways to create more personalized, impactful digital touchpoints. This role includes engaging with corporations at events and developing materials like welcome packages, tabling resources, and strategic communication calendars. It’s a hands-on opportunity to support Kanbe’s growth while gaining experience in corporate fundraising, donor communications, and strategic development at a fast-growing food security nonprofit.
