Position Description:
We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to assist in converting our existing curriculum projects from the old LEGO Mindstorms software (EV3 Lab or EV3 Home Edition) to the new LEGO Mindstorms Education EV3 Classroom software. This volunteer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our educational materials remain up-to-date and accessible to educators and students using the latest technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze existing curriculum projects developed for the old LEGO Mindstorms software.
2. Adapt and recreate these projects using the LEGO Mindstorms Education EV3 Classroom software, utilizing the Scratch-based coding language.
3. Ensure that the converted projects maintain the educational objectives and learning outcomes of the original curriculum.
4. Test and debug the converted projects to ensure functionality and usability.
5. Collaborate with the Curriculum Development team to incorporate feedback and improvements into the converted projects.
6. Document the conversion process and provide clear instructions for educators on how to implement the new curriculum projects.
Qualifications:
– Proficiency in using both the old LEGO Mindstorms software (EV3 Lab or EV3 Home Edition) and the new LEGO Mindstorms Education EV3 Classroom software.
– Strong understanding of coding concepts and experience with Scratch-based programming.
– Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in curriculum content and objectives.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Time Commitment:
This is a flexible volunteer position that can be performed remotely. The time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on the workload and availability.
