Position Overview

We are seeking two passionate and experienced educators to serve as Lead Teachers for our LEAP into Success Summer Camp, a two-week inclusive academic enrichment program open to all children, including those with and without Down syndrome.

  • One Lead Teacher will work with VPK students
  • One Lead Teacher will work with 1st–5th grade students

Each classroom will serve approximately 15 students and will be supported by two volunteers, allowing for a highly engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment.

This position includes both pre-camp planning and assessments (April–May 2026) and two weeks of in-person camp instruction (June 1–June 12, 2026).

This is more than a summer camp—it is an opportunity to build academic confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and model inclusive education practices that support long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-camp academic and developmental assessments
  • Design and implement differentiated instruction aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards
  • Integrate neurodevelopmental and sensory integration strategies to support diverse learners
  • Lead daily instruction (Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–1:00 PM; schedule may vary slightly)
  • Promote literacy, math fluency, physical activity, and social-emotional development
  • Foster inclusive classroom environments that support collaboration among students of all abilities
  • Apply positive behavior management techniques to ensure a safe, supportive setting
  • Collaborate with two classroom volunteers to enhance student support and engagement
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress
  • Maintain organized, stimulating classroom environments
  • Ensure compliance with childcare regulations and student welfare standards

Qualifications

  • Florida Teaching Certification or 5+ years of homeschool teaching experience
  • Experience teaching elementary students (VPK–5th grade)
  • Experience in inclusive classrooms and/or working with students with diverse abilities (preferred)
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction, early intervention, and special education strategies
  • Familiarity with neurodevelopmental frameworks and sensory integration practices
  • Strong classroom leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers and community partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to high expectations for all learners
