Lead Pastor
Christian Fellowship Church is currently accepting applications for the position of Pastor. This fellowship of believers with a German Lutheran heritage is seeking a man who sees pastoral ministry as a calling rather than a career and who wishes to further God’s kingdom. The Pastor will provide Bible-based spiritual
leadership
for the congregation through preaching, counselling, visiting, evangelizing, discipling, administering the sacraments, engaging in outreach, and performing weddings and funerals.
The Pastor is a member, within the limits of legislated guidelines, of the Church Board and Elders and is accountable to these groups. In addition to having a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and a sincere love for people, the successful candidate will have completed formal theological training and have several years of pastoral experience.
Specific Job Duties:
Coordinating and conducting Sunday worship services;
Overseeing and assisting in weekly Bible studies and prayer meetings;
Administering baptism and communion;
Conducting premarital counselling prior to performing weddings;
Providing confidential pastoral counselling (the Pastor is bound by a seal of confession in regard to all counselling);
Visiting Church members and attendees on a regular basis;
Coordinating and overseeing evangelistic outreaches including Church retreats;
Attending Church Board meetings, congregational meetings, committee meetings and other relevant Church meetings, as an ex-officio, time permitting;
Conducting confirmation/baptism classes;
Supporting youth ministry;
Providing Christian guidance, support and training;
Other duties as assigned.
