Position: Lead Housing Disaster Resilience & Recovery at Habitat for Humanity

Location: Georgia Center

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Senior Director of Housing DisasterResilienceand Recovery to lead and coordinate efforts to strengthen housingresiliencein disaster-affected communities. Reporting to the Vice President of Program Effectiveness, the Senior Director will oversee a team of specialists and work collaboratively with global and regional departments to drive Habitat’s Pathway to Permanence approach, bridging short-term relief with long-termresilience.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans for Housing DisasterResilienceand Recovery (HDRR) in alignment with Habitat’s global strategy.

Build capacity in housingresiliencethrough standards, guidelines, and monitoring systems.

Collaborate across departments to integrateresilienceinto long-term programs.

Leadadvocacy, research, andcommunity engagementfor disasterresilience.

Pursue funding opportunities and oversee grant compliance for HDRR projects.

Represent HFHI in global disaster risk reduction and housingresiliencefora.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in urban planning, public policy, civil engineering, or related field; graduate studies in disaster management orresilienceplanning preferred.

7+ years in disaster risk reduction, housing development, or related fields.

Experience managing complex international projects and leadingdiverseteams.

Ability to integrate gender and socialinclusionin program design.

Familiarity with working in Global South and Global North contexts.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of building code frameworks is a plus.

Experience writing grants for institutional donors is a plus.

Fluency in more than one language is a plus.

Compensation and

Benefits:

Salary rangefor U.S.

-based positions: $116,030 to $136,500. HFHI offerscompetitive benefits, including health insurance, retirement contributions, andpaid leave, varying by country.

Hybrid orremote workingarrangements available.

Must be based in a country with a Habitat presence and legal work eligibility.

U.S.

-based hybrid employees required in-office attendance on Tuesdays in Atlanta, GA, or Washington, DC.
