Laramie Interfaith VISTA Jobs in Wyoming at AmeriCorps
: A VISTA member will join Laramie Interfaith in South-Eastern Wyoming to further the organization’s mission to alleviate homelessness and food insecurity in Albany County. The VISTA assignment entails increasing community awareness of various Laramie Interfaith services such as the food pantry and housing services, and increasing Interfaith’s volunteer and donor base, thereby allowing the organization to better serve the target population. Laramie Interfaith serves an average of 75 households per day through their food pantry service, which does not reflect the nearly 25% poverty rate in Albany County, and VISTA efforts will make a large difference in ensuring that more individuals and families are able to access vital services. The ideal VISTA member will possess creativity, basic knowledge of computers and technology, writing skills, and communications skills.
Member Duties : The member will increase community awareness of various Laramie Interfaith services through assessment and analyzation of current communications strategies and materials, as well as the creation and implementation of effective educational and communication’s content. The member will create and implement a yearly communications and outreach calendar for Laramie Interfaith. The member will play a vital role in increasing the organization’s volunteer base, through assessing current volunteer recruitment, training, and management strategies, and updating current volunteer management best practices. The member will also increase the organization’s donor base through research of potential grants and donors, and continued relationships with current donors and community partners.
