Position: Kamloops Outreach Worker for Homelessness
Join BC Housing as a Homelessness Outreach Worker in Kamloops, BC. This short-term, full-time position focuses on outreach to those experiencing and at risk of homelessness.
As part of the multidisciplinary HEART team, you will actively engage with individuals in crisis and help connect them to essential housing and support resources.
Your role requires collaborating with various housing providers and ensuring the wellbeing of those at risk in community locations while working on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with individuals experiencing homelessness in community locations
• Aid in navigating available housing resources
• Work collaboratively with local shelters and providers
• Be part of a multidisciplinary team tackling homelessness issues
• Ensure confidentiality and effective communication with clients
Requirements:
• High school diploma with additional education in relevant fields
• Experience with homelessness and substance use challenges
• Demonstrated crisis management skills
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
