INTIATIVES COORDINATOR
The Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for assisting and coordinating with the Program Initiatives Director for all Unified Champion Schools programs, Special Olympics (SO) College programming, Athlete Leadership opportunities, and Young Athlete events as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of college hours and experience.
· Special Olympics knowledge and experience preferred.
· Experience working with schools and youth; college degree preferred.
· Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
· Strong management, organizational, and event-planning skills
· Computer skills, especially database management and Microsoft platforms
· Ability to speak in public
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate pleasantly and effectively with people
· Must be able to travel throughout the state.
· Evening, weekend, and some overtime work as approved and required.

LOCATION: Tulsa, Oklahoma
SALARY: Commensurate with experience. EVALUATION: At the end of 90 days and then annually. POSITION STATUS: Exempt
Duties & Responsibilities
ATHLETE LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY
· Organize, plan, and execute curriculum for the Athlete Leadership University
· Recruit athletes & mentors to apply to be in the program
· Work with the Health & Wellness Coordinator in teaching students
· Oversee the completion of the program for each ALU student
UNIFIED CHAMPION SCHOOLS
· Assist the Program Initiatives Director in the recruitment of new schools into the UCS program
· Develop good working relationships with UCS Advisors in the schools
· Attend meetings at individual schools or agencies providing involvement information and guidance in team development strategies
· Assist in the implementation of the Youth Leadership Summit and all of its details
· Assist in writing and submitting the annual grant application
· Assist in creating and modifying new resources to help schools be engaged in UCS
· Attend Regional / National meetings as needed (ex. National Conference, UCS Workshops)
YOUNG ATHLETES
· Work with schools to help provide Young Athletes resources
· Schedule, plan, and hold meetings with Area Directors, teachers, and coaches
· Attend and assist in overseeing Young Athlete events at the local and state level
SO COLLEGE
· Recruit and retain college/university programs across Oklahoma
· Work with the Sports department in setting up leagues and competitions on campuses
· Hold meetings of onboarding and retention for SO College programs
UNIFIED LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
· Assist in overseeing the volunteer ULC Advisors and ULC members
· Assist in the interview process of new ULC members
GENERAL
· Assist at the annual Coaches Camp as needed
· Attend Winter, Summer, and State Level Games annually
· Attend sectional, regional, national, and world events as needed
· Attend state, regional, and national conferences as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
