The Housing Mentor’s role encompasses personal development, housing stability, and cultural connection, ensuring meaningful support for youth navigating their journey towards independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop trusting, authentic relationships with youth
• Teach practical life skills such as household management
• Assist in the application and search for suitable housing
• Advocate for youth rights in tenancy situations
• Coordinate access to community and cultural resources
Requirements:
• Background in Child and Youth Care or Indigenous Studies
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and harm reduction
• Experience in youth support and crisis resolution
• Capacity for teamwork and independent work
• Willingness to obtain necessary certifications
Through mentorship and cultural engagement, help youth discover their strengths as they gain independence.
