We are currently seeking professional and compassionate individuals to work as “direct support staff/life skills trainers” in our Independent Living Services Program. The Independent Living Services Program provides 1:1 support and training to clients living independently in the community in their own homes. We offer competitive compensation (hourly wage rate varies based on assignment), and full benefits to employees who work 30+ hours: medical, vacation and sick leave, accidental death and disability, life insurance
Job Duties for “direct support staff/life skills trainer” in the Independent Living Services Program include:
–Community-based individual skill instruction and hands-on assistance with daily life activities
–Case management

Resilience is a must in the disability sector. We all have our good and bad days and the ability to remain calm and supportive is inherent.
Flexibility -As we provide individualized supports for people based on their needs, shifts will vary in length and time so an ability to be flexible in this sector is also a must. Shifts may also vary from one-to-one support in the community, supporting people in their own homes and working in a residential or community access setting.
Multitasking – Be able to wear more than one hat i.e Buddy, cheerleader, teacher, cook, secretary, gaming pal, champion, coach, student, sidekick, guide, assistant, advocate…
