Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will lead and oversee all HR functions, ensuring alignment with Meta House’s mission and values. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing HR operations, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The role may have up to two direct reports to assist in the daily operations of the HR department.
Position Responsibilities Description
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
Oversee employee relations, performance management, and professional development programs.
Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Provide guidance and support to leadership on HR-related matters.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR roles, including Generalist responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience leveraging Human Resources Information System (HRIS) software (i.e., Paycom or similar).
HR operational experience within a nonprofit environment
Payroll processing/management experience
Completion of a Professional HR (PHR) training program
