ABOUT BASF:

BASF is a nonprofit organization and the oldest voluntary bar association in California. Today, over 7,000 San Francisco lawyers are members of BASF, which prides itself as being one of the most active and innovative local bar associations. In addition to services and benefits to our members, BASF provides a variety of legal services to San Francisco residents including our Lawyer Referral and Information Service, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and the Justice & Diversity Center (including the Homeless Advocacy Project) which is the largest provider of legal services to San Franciscans.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the Human Resources Director in the design, implementation and administration of multiple HR programs, systems and procedures including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and training, benefits, HRIS systems administration, compliance and reporting, workplace culture and staff engagement, and maintains personnel records. This position works closely with the Finance Department on benefits and payroll matters and is the team’s first point of contact for all staff.

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 5 years human resources experience and Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of related education and professional experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of Federal, State and San Francisco employment related laws and ordinances

Ability to handle a high volume of activity in a fast-paced environment and independently prioritize with acute attention to detail, accuracy and organization.

Ability to solve problems and exercise good judgment in implementing and applying policies appropriately

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (professional and diplomatic interactions
