Grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-centered care, our vision is a future where exploitation no longer exists. As the only Ameri Corps program dedicated to human trafficking, the Volunteer Service Link program connects Ameri Corps members with victim service organizations to enhance survivor support.
Responsibilities
Partner with staff and community organizations to ensure survivors have access to safe, stable housing options.
Assist survivors in navigating housing systems, including shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing programs.
Advocate for survivors’ housing needs by working with landlords, housing authorities, and support agencies to reduce barriers to stability.
Support survivors with trauma-informed care and emotional regulation as they transition into independent living.
Facilitate individualized support sessions focused on empowering survivors in their housing journey.
Maintain communication with partner agencies to coordinate services and ensure continuity of care.
Service Environment
Schedule:
Flexible scheduling options with part-time and on-call availability. Shifts to be determined based on availability.
Service Setting:
Hybrid model with a combination of in-office, remote, and community-based work.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate activity may be required, including travel to partner sites.

Duties
Connect Survivors to Safe Housing:
Work closely with internal staff and community organizations to help survivors access emergency, transitional, or permanent housing options.
Navigate Complex Housing Systems:
Guide survivors through shelters, housing programs, and other housing-related services.
Advocate for Survivors’ Needs:
Partner with landlords, housing authorities, and support agencies to reduce housing barriers and secure stable placements.
Provide Emotional and Trauma-Informed Support:
Offer emotional support and teach coping strategies during the often stressful process of securing and transitioning into housing.
Offer Individualized Support:
Lead one-on-one sessions to empower survivors in setting housing goals and building skills for independent living.
Coordinate with Community Partners:
Keep open communication with other service providers to ensure survivors receive coordinated, consistent care throughout their housing journey.
