SMILE is seeking an experienced House Manager to ensure a safe and supportive environment for three adult males in a shared living situation. The House Manager is responsible for organizing and managing the home for residents who require daily support with personal care, daily living, and other activities. The House Manager supervises the support staff and is responsible for implementing processes and policies that ensure a safe and supportive environment, so the residents receive the highest quality care and accommodation they need to function in daily life.

SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The home is located in Stone Mountain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the daily routines and ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures related to employee assigned duties.

Ensures required shift responsibilities are completed by the Direct Support Professional (DSP) including but not limited to assisting with and properly storing medication, adhering to client health care plans, completing documentation, reporting concerns, and maintaining an organized environment.

Ensures client personal items are kept clean, rotated, organized, and in working order such as grooming supplies, toiletries, clothing, linens, adaptive equipment, and bedroom furnishings.

Ensures the cleanliness of the home daily.

Ensures that the home is stocked adequately with groceries and household supplies.

Maintains an inventory of food, house supplies, emergency supplies, vehicle equipment, first aid kits, and the clients’ prescribed medications.

Monitors the home, vehicle, and technology equipment for proper working condition and promptly reports items in disrepair.

Manages and reconciles household expenditures and client personal spending, including but not limited to collecting and turning in all receipts and recording transactions, as well as identifying and correcting discrepancies.

Ensures that fire, severe weather, and emergency drills are completed and documented according to the established schedule.

Regularly provides individualized care and attention to clients and monitors bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, self-administered medication, and any other client care needs.

Attends medical appointments with clients as needed, provides information to the medical professional during the appointment, and forwards results to company medical support staff via the medical consultation form.

Completes daily documentation including health tracking, data collection, shift notes, and incident reports as required using company established web-based application.

Promptly reports client and staff injuries to Program Management and Compliance.

Ensures service plans and health care plans are followed and documented daily.

Ensures client participation in community and home life activities.

Ensures clients are offered choices and informs them about their rights and responsibilities so they can make informed decisions.

Completes required ongoing training and participates in meetings as assigned.

Participates in training DSPs to further help them understand their responsibilities and the knowledge and skills they need to do their job effectively.

Provides recommendations for the development of staff evaluations and/or corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
A minimum of 12 months of experience working with I/DD.
Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Must pass a national background check and fingerprinting.
Valid Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
First Aid/CPR AED certifications.
Negative results for a Tuberculosis screen.
Able to read, write and understand the English language.
Proficiency with using computers, tablets, and smartphones.
Able to drive in all traffic situations and weather conditions.
A high degree of patience & able to tolerate frustrating situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a home setting. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, bend, twist, kneel, push, and pull for periods of time as well as see, talk, and hear. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees, visitors, and/or clients. Additionally, the employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to work at any location as needed and be responsible for own transportation to and from these locations.
