The Homelessness Outreach Worker reports to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, and plays a vital role in a multidisciplinary team answering to homelessness challenges. You will engage with those facing homelessness, guiding them through housing and essential support services. Your experience, particularly with diverse communities, will enhance the outreach mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect with individuals experiencing homelessness in community settings
• Assist clients in navigating housing support systems
• Collaborate with shelters and homelessness service agencies
• Support rapid response initiatives for outdoor sheltering
• Facilitate crisis management and de-escalation techniques
Requirements:
• High School diploma plus post-secondary courses in relevant fields
• Experience working with diverse populations facing homelessness
• Knowledge of government and community housing providers
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license required
