High Rocks -Laughlin Memorial Jobs in West Virginia at AmeriCorps
Laughlin Memorial has been in the East Wheeling Community for more than 150 years. Most programming is designed to provide safe supervision, academic support, and meals for children in the urban neighborhoods of Wheeling. During the current academic year, 75 individual children have participated in the afterschool program. The afterschool program operates Monday – Thursday. In the summer, Laughlin Memorial offers a literacy program to helps kids maintain or improve their literacy skills over the summer. All programs are free. More than 50 families rely on the Laughlin Memorial for accessible out-of-school time programs, which help families maintain employment.
Member Duties : The member will largely focus on the afterschool program by helping support students in their academic area via tutoring, developing and leading enrichment activities, helping to provide balancing meal services. This member will serve as a reliable leader that will help expand our capacity to keep students engaged by providing them with personal choice. Outreach events and recruiting volunteers.
