Overview

Tennis Outreach Programs (TOPs), which operates Eastside Tennis Center (ETC), is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly skilled Tennis Coach to join our coaching team.

This position is ideal for a coach with a strong background working with competitive and high-performance junior players who is looking to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The coach will support ETC’s High Performance program while also contributing to recreational and developmental programs across the facility. This is not a program-director role; rather, it is an opportunity for an experienced coach to work alongside our High Performance leadership and contribute to the development of competitive players.

We are looking for a coach who understands what it takes to help serious junior players improve, from technical and tactical development to movement, competition, confidence, and long-term player development. At the same time, the ideal candidate enjoys working with players of different ages and levels and understands the importance of creating a positive experience for every player.

TOPs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making tennis accessible to the community regardless of economic circumstance. ETC is one of the Pacific Northwest’s busiest public indoor tennis facilities and serves players of all ages and ability levels.

Responsibilities

  • Support High Performance training groups along with the skill and desire to coach within recreational youth and adult programs
  • Provide high-quality technical, tactical, movement, and competitive training for advanced junior players
  • Lead and assist programs for players of all ages, ranging from developmental and recreational levels through advanced competition
  • Help players develop the skills, confidence, habits, and competitive mindset necessary for long-term growth
  • Observe and communicate player progress, providing constructive and thoughtful feedback to players and families
  • Collaborate closely with other coaches to create consistency in player development, coaching standards, and the overall player experience
  • Assist with camps, match play, tournament preparation, team events, and other competitive opportunities
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for junior players both on and off the court
  • Help create a welcoming, energetic, and professional environment for players and families
  • Maintain strong organization, preparation, safety, and professionalism in all coaching responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant tennis coaching experience, with a strong background working with competitive junior players
  • Competitive playing experience at the collegiate level or higher is expected
  • Demonstrated understanding of high-performance player development and the demands of competitive junior tennis
  • Strong technical and tactical knowledge, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and effectively communicate them to players
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with players, parents, and fellow coaches
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a structured coaching team while also taking ownership of assigned groups and players
  • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping players reach their potential
  • Professional, dependable, organized, and positive approach to coaching
  • Position involves working evenings and weekends

Compensation

Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and coaching background. Annual range $80,000-110,000 for FT (DOE)

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
