Position: HERITAGE PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Location: Hopedale

Responsibilities

Develop and implement relevant cultural heritage programming and events.

Fieldwork related to intangible cultural heritage.

Curate and maintain content for the Nunatsiavut Stories website.

Conduct and curate interviews with Elders and other knowledge holders to help document and preserve Nunatsiavut’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

Conduct and coordinate public outreach and engagement related to cultural heritage programming, including the annual Heritage Forum.

Provide assistance in implementing and monitoring the Collections Management Policy.

Provide support to community-based cultural heritage organizations in Nunatsiavut.

Liaise with other Divisions of Language, Culture and Tourism and additional departments across the NG as required.

Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Diploma in Community Studies with 3-5 years of related experience. A combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with community members.

Experience in preparing applications for funding.

Assets

Bilingual in Inuttitut and English.
