Position: Head of Centre 56

Job Overview

Part-time (21 hours) and flexible working patterns available.

Liverpool office base.

Annual salary of £28,224 (FTE £47,040).

Role

As Head of Centre 56, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Centre 56, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, trauma‑informed services for children and families affected by domestic abuse and crisis.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for delivering the Centre 56 business plan, ensuring safeguarding and Ofsted readiness, managing finances, building partnerships, and ensuring the charity’s sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall performance, sustainability, and growth of the charity.
  • Delivery of the Centre 56 Business Plan and strategic objectives.
  • Safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and Ofsted readiness.
  • Financial management and income generation.
  • Building partnerships to increase reach, referrals, and impact.

This role will ensure Centre 56 delivers its vision of a safe, nurturing and empowering environment where children and families can thrive and build stable futures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant leadership experience within children’s services, early years, family support or the charity sector.
  • Experience of working in trauma‑informed or safeguarding‑focused environments.
  • Strong financial management and budget control experience.
  • Demonstrable success in income generation (fundraising, grants, partnerships) and ability to build and sustain high‑value partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding.
  • Understanding of EYFS and Ofsted frameworks.
  • Experience of compliance in the charitable sector.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision‑making and performance.
  • Experience of KPI reporting, impact measurement and social value reporting.
  • Values‑driven with a passion for supporting children and families.
  • Excellent communication skills, resilience, adaptability and a solutions‑focused mindset.
