Location: City of Mechanicville
The Grants Manager of KIPP Texas Public Schools will be responsible for:
Writing and submitting grant applications to current, new, and lapsed supporters;
Writing interim and final reports to funders;
Researching new corporate and foundation prospects.
The Grants Manager will assist with grant management to ensure goals are achieved and support the Development team by aiding fundraising and donor cultivation events. This role advances KIPP Texas Public Schools’ mission by securing financial donations to support operational costs and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Acquire and maintain knowledge of KIPP Texas Public Schools to effectively communicate our mission, vision, and impact to donors and funding agencies;
Manage a portfolio of donors, funding agencies, and prospects, utilizing a moves management system to build relationships and identify funding opportunities;
Maintain proactive relationships with internal departments, troubleshoot grant issues, and coordinate solutions;
Lead project management of grants throughout their lifecycle and serve as the organizational subject matter expert;
Manage fiscal compliance in collaboration with finance and program teams, ensuring proper expense tracking and documentation;
Adhere to grant timelines and communicate deadlines and responsibilities to stakeholders;
Develop donor engagement strategies, coordinating with statewide and regional teams to align organization needs with donor interests.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;
Basic accounting knowledge;
Experience in grant writing and reporting (preferred);
Experience with Raiser’s Edge (preferred);
Experience at KIPP or other Charter Management Organization (highly preferred).
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent organizational and planning skills;
Strong analytical skills;
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel;
Ability to understand and create budgets;
Attention to detail and accuracy;
Follow-up and follow-through skills;
Proficiency with computers and office equipment;
Ability to effectively communicate KIPP’s mission.
