Position Summary

The Grants & Community Relations Manager is responsible for leading CAPC’s grant development, community partnership initiatives, and strategic projects that advance organizational priorities. This position manages the full grant lifecycle, from prospect research and proposal development through award management, compliance, and reporting, while building and maintaining relationships with foundations, government agencies, corporations, and community partners. Working closely with the CEO and program leadership, the Grants & Community Relations Manager develops competitive funding proposals, coordinates cross‑functional projects, identifies collaborative opportunities, builds relationships with foundations and corporate partners, and ensures all development activities align with CAPC’s strategic priorities.

The position oversees development systems, donor stewardship, sponsorship fulfillment, and marketing efforts that support fundraising and community engagement. The CEO maintains responsibility for major gift cultivation, executive relationships, and organizational fundraising strategy, while this position provides the operational leadership that supports those efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Grant Development & Management (40%)

  • Research federal, state, local, foundation, and corporate grant opportunities.
  • Maintain CAPC’s annual grant calendar and funding pipeline.
  • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with program directors to gather budgets, program data, measurable outcomes, and evaluation information.
  • Monitor grant deadlines and ensure all applications and reports are submitted on time.
  • Maintain relationships with grant funders and funding partners.
  • Track grant awards, renewals, reporting requirements, and compliance.
  • Assist with developing new funding strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Prepare grant summaries and funding recommendations for executive leadership.

Community Partnerships & Collaborative Initiatives (20%)

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with community organizations, foundations, government agencies, educational institutions, and corporate partners.
  • Identify and coordinate collaborative funding opportunities and joint initiatives.
  • Support workplace giving and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Represent CAPC at community meetings, coalitions, networking events, and partnership forums.
  • Assist the CEO with cultivating new strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the Development Manager to secure sponsor ships and funding support for organizational events and special initiatives.

Development & Marketing Operations (20%)

  • Maintain grant files, records, reporting systems, and compliance documentation.
  • Support donor and funder stewardship by coordinating timely acknowledgments, recognition activities, impact reporting, and ongoing engagement.
  • Assist with development reporting, dashboards, and impact measurement.
  • Utilize donor management system (Donor Perfect) and grants management systems to track gifts, funding activities, outcomes, and donor communications.
  • Support board committees and leadership teams with grant and partnership-related information.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop compelling stories, impact narratives, and program highlights.
  • Assist in developing collateral materials, presentations, fact sheets, and case statements to support funding and partnership efforts.
  • Contribute content for newsletters, website updates, donor appeals, and stakeholder communications related to grants and special projects.

Special Projects & Donor Relations (20%)

  • Support CEO‑led fundraising initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager on annual giving campaigns, donor appeals, year‑end fundraising efforts, and stewardship activities.
