Position:  Grants Assistant (NYWF)

Location: New York

The Grants Assistant reports to the Grants Manager and assists in overseeing all incoming grant applications, contracts, award payments, and other grantmaking administrative functions. The Grants Assistant coordinates the Grants Advisory Committee (GAC) process. As an integral member of the Programs team, the Grants Assistant works closely with the Grants Manager and Program Officers around all grantmaking functions and the GAC.

S/he works with the Finance Department to ensure payments are processed and tracked accurately. The Grants Assistant also assists with the online grants management system and its utilizations by all users across staff, grantee advisory committee, and applicant roles.

Qualifications:

Assists in the overall workflow, effectiveness, andquality controlof the grantmaking process, including tracking of grant awards and payments.

Coordinates GAC processes including inquiries and screening potential applicants, coordinating orientation, recommendation meetings, and other GAC activities.

Assists the Manager with the online-based grant submission process and providing application packages to GAC and other team members as needed.

Provides professional services, answering questions to issues that may arise in the application process.

Works with the grants management system including running reports and other functions as needed.

Provides logistical and program support for other grantmaking activities including grantee partner convenings, thoughtleadershipactivities, Program Committee meetings, and other events as needed.

Assists the Manager in the processing and tracking of grants and grant payments.

Other activities and programs as assigned.

Professional

Experience:

Minimum B.A. plus 2 years work experience in nonprofit and/or philanthropic institutions.

Minimum two years grantmaking and/or volunteer coordination experience.

Grants management systems fluency in Fluxx.

Excellent telephone presence along with excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.

Ability to multi-task and be flexible in afast-paced environment.

Ability to problem solve and has experience working productively and proactively both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Survey Monkey.
