About the role
We are looking for a Grants and Fundraising officer who will be responsible for identifying, researching, and securing grant and funding opportunities to support our organization’s mission and objectives. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of grant application processes, excellent research skills, and a proven track record of successful grant acquisition.
Responsibilities
1. Research and identify potential grant and funding opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and private donors.
2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of our organization’s funding needs and priorities.
3. Prepare and submit grant proposals and applications in accordance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
5. Manage and maintain a database of grant opportunities, application deadlines, and reporting requirements.
6. Cultivate relationships with funders and stakeholders to enhance funding prospects and opportunities.
7. Monitor and track grant awards, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations.
8. Stay informed about trends and developments in the grant funding landscape.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field).
2. Proven experience in Opportunity research, grant writing, grant management, or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.
3. Strong research skills and ability to effectively gather and analyze information from diverse sources.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant management software or databases is a plus.
