Job Description:
The Grant Coordinator is a highly organized and detail-oriented role that reports to the Comptroller.
This role is responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, government entities, and corporate donors, as well as tracking, administering and reporting on existing grants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research & Identify Funding Opportunities
Conduct thorough research to identify new funding sources, including grants from federal, state, and local governments, private foundations, and corporate donors.
Analyze grant requirements and align potential funding opportunities with programs and goals.
Proposal Writing
Write compelling and persuasive grant proposals tailored to each funder’s priorities and requirements.
Collaborate with finance, fundraisers, and senior leadership to gather necessary data, program details, and budget information to support proposals.
Ensure all submissions meet deadlines and adhere to funders’ guidelines.
Grant Reporting
Prepare and submit reports in coordination with finance to funders detailing the use of grant funds, progress toward objectives, and outcomes of funded programs.
Prepares internal reporting on grant status and source, amounts of funding pursued, availability of grant funding identified
Maintain accurate records of grant activities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Funding Administration
Assists Comptroller in developing project budgets in coordination with the finance team, ensuring alignment with grant requirements. Communicating and reporting the details of the funding terms and conditions to Comptroller and senior management.
Responsible for administration of grant and funding data utilizing technology platforms provided by the organization.
Confidentiality & Ethical Practice
Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Maintain ethical and compliance standards consistent with nonprofit operations.
Ensure data security and privacy in all administrative tasks.
Dress Code: Business Casual
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English and/or Communications is preferred or requisite work experience in a related field.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of successful grant writing experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
Proven track record of securing government, foundation, and corporate grants.
Exceptional written communication and storytelling skills.
Strong research skills with the ability to identify and assess funding opportunities.
Experience developing and managing grant budgets.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate with diverse teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant management software.
