Position: Garden Assistant with KPU Community Outreach
Support community engagement as a Learning Garden Assistant at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Richmond. Collaborate on sustainable projects and outreach events in a hands-on role.
The part-time position requires working directly with the community outreach liaison, contributing to the learning garden and food forest while aiding in various outreach programs. You’ll be involved in physical gardening tasks and community interactions aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct gardening tasks like weeding, planting, and harvesting
• Support the KPU Farm Volunteer Program leadership
• Help create outreach and educational materials
• Assist in organizing workshops and guided tours
Requirements:
• Understanding of basic gardening techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong communication skills in writing and speech
• Preferred experience in agricultural or urban gardening settings
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather
