Cashier
AMVETS National Service Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting American veterans. AMVETS Thrift Store is currently seeking a positive, motivated Cashier to join our store team.
As a Cashier, you’ll be the face of the store for many of our customers — processing transactions accurately, providing friendly and efficient service, and helping keep the checkout area clean and organized.
Who We’re Looking For
- Enjoys interacting with customers and creating a positive shopping experience
- Handles cash and transactions accurately and responsibly
- Stays friendly, patient, and efficient during busy periods
- Comfortable multitasking between ringing up sales, answering questions, and light store upkeep
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work as part of a team
- Willing to learn and take direction
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates and guests
- Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete transactions and necessary documentation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and remain active for the duration of a shift
- Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including the selling floor and stock area as needed
- Ability to move or handle merchandise, generally weighing 0–50 pounds
