Job Title: Full-Time Hafidh
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Maktab department as a full-time Hafidh and lead instructor. In this role, the hafidh will work closely with our Qur’an school principal and other staff and volunteers to inspire Maktab students, cultivate their Imān, mentor, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to further strengthen and expand the program.
This position requires interpersonal skills, proficiency in the required academics, attention to detail, maintaining confidentiality and patience, as well as, strong organizational skills to handle fast-paced, deadline-driven tasks.

We are a growing muslim community in the Northside of San Antonio, consisting of the diversity that is a microcosm of the ummah. Currently, we have our After-School Qur’an and Islamic Studies Maktab program.
Job Type:
● In-Person, Full-Time.
● Weekdays, Mornings, Evenings, and Weekends.
● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Pay: Commensurate to the qualifications & experience.
Job Duties:
● Manage class with students primarily under the age of 18.
● Effectively teach the Qur’an, Tajweed, Nādhirah, and Tahfīdh.
● Effectively teach the Islamic Studies and follow the Maktab curriculum (currently Safar Publications).
● Lead and inspire the students with one’s own character and demeanor to love the Qur’an, Allah, and His Messenger ﷺ.
● Effectively communicate student’s progress and challenges with the Maktab principal, and when needed, with the student’s parents.
● Lead Taraweeh in Ramadan.
● Initiate adult Qur’an literacy program.
● Commitment to implementing NICSA’s vision.
● Design and assist with the students’ examination and grading.
● Assist with Maktab events outside of the classroom when occasionally organized. For e.g. picnics, orientation, parents-teacher meetings, etc.
● Contribute to the development and execution of strategies for strengthening the Maktab, especially outreach in the community.
● Assist with other tasks and challenges as needed during the year, such as Maktab orientations, parents-teacher meetings, graduation, registration, field-trips, picnics, activities.
● Must embody the 3 C’s: Commitment, Consistency, and Character.
Qualifications:
● Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or ʿĀlimiyyah degree (required).
● Ijāzah or Certification from a recognized Islamic institution or authority (required).
● A hāfidh (required).
● 2–3 Years of teaching experience, especially in the field of Qur’an and Islamic Studies (preferred).
● Background in youth work (preferred).
● Understands the importance of Tarbiyyah.
● Highly organized, keen attention to detail, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
● A high sense of urgency and excellent response time.
● Excellent team player is a must.
● Excellent English communication skills.
● Multi-lingual is a plus.
● Strong familiarity with the Google Docs, Spreadsheets, and Forms.
