Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to manage comprehensive accounting functions and payroll processing for our organization. Perform large variety of clerical duties involving interacting with other employees and departments. Generally, an employee in this class functions as the primary support to an administrator or has considerable knowledge of a technical field. Work typically involves several steps and requires the selection of the most appropriate action within procedural and operational guidelines. Work is directed by precedents or board policy. The employee may develop procedures for non-technical and non-complex problems and is expected to resolve problems independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full cycle of bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance.
  • Sets up and maintains files/storage of a large and varied number of subjects
  • Files and retrieves information from a filing system
  • Purges files by prescribed procedures
  • Operates large variety of standard office equipment
  • Originates design and layout of material, charts, and statistical materials
  • Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and employee information while managing deductions, benefits, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Generate comprehensive financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting processes and provide account analysis to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement within financial systems.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit organizations when applicable.
  • Conduct account reconciliations for accounts payable/receivable and general ledger accounts using spreadsheets or specialized accounting software.
  • Support internal audits by preparing documentation related to financial transactions and account balances.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of employment & labor law compliance as well as payroll tax regulations.
  • Proficient in Excel- formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and high ethical standards for handling confidential information.
  • Strong understanding of time & attendance systems like Paycom or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), account analysis, bank reconciliation processes, budgeting support, and 10-key typing accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in all recordkeeping activities.

Pay: $25.82 – $31.09 per hour
