Position Overview:

The Fresh Market Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the recruitment, training, engagement and retention of our volunteers, while managing the daily operations of the Fresh Market pantry. Through hands-on work in the Fresh Market, this individual ensures the seamless coordination of volunteers to enhance the efficiency and impact of our programming with operations responsibilities, contributing to our mission of alleviating hunger in our community.

Areas of Responsibility:

Fresh Market Volunteer Programming:

Conduct orientation sessions and provide on-the-job training for new volunteers.
Develop and implement strategies to attract and recruit volunteers.
Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer community through regular communication and recognition programs, and community events.
Address volunteer concerns, provide feedback and implement strategies to enhance satisfaction, engagement and retention.

Fresh Market Pantry Operations:

Ordering and placement of food products to proper pantry locations, while implementing a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory system.
Oversee Fresh Market inventory, logistics, and nutritional standards.
Work closely with the Director of Fresh Market to implement Fresh Market programs, services, while adhering to a monthly budget.
Monitor food supply levels to ensure equity and accessibility for neighbors.
Provide support to Fresh Market staff to maintain a clean and organized market area that provides a welcoming environment for our neighbors.

Data Management/Program Reporting:

Maintain processes to ensure records of volunteer hours, activities and impact metrics are recorded, and neighbor metrics are gleaned.
Maintain a comprehensive database of volunteers’ skills, availability and preferences.
Report on program issues, including food distribution, volunteers, and neighbors.

Food Safety:

Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, Compliance maintains the cleanliness of the Fresh Market.
Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) procedures are utilized.
Ensure compliance and accurate records with all applicable AIB, Feeding America, TEFAP, and state/federal health codes and policies.

Education, Licensing, or Certification Requirements:

Associate degree or equivalent
Valid Indiana driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
AIB- Food Safety Manger Training (FFFB will provide).
Proficiency in Windows-based systems 

Standard Work Schedule:

Monday: Off

Tuesday: 10am – 7pm

Wednesday: 10am – 7pm

Thursday: 10am – 7pm

Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm

Saturday: 8:30am – 2:30pm

Sunday: 0ff

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 – $57,000.00 per year
