Are you an experienced nonprofit fundraiser looking for the opportunity to build something from the ground up?
Nuvia Association for Nutrition and Health is a young Swiss nonprofit with an international vision: to improve physical and mental wellbeing by making evidence-informed education on nutrition and healthy lifestyle accessible to everyone.
We’re building an international community of healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, and volunteers who believe that better health begins with better understanding and implementation. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone to establish and lead our fundraising and development function.
About the Role
This is a part-time volunteer leadership position during Nuvia’s early growth phase. Our intention is for the role to transition into a paid Director position once agreed fundraising milestones have been achieved and the position can be sustainably funded.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building systems, creating strategy, and helping an organization establish the foundations for long-term success.
As our Founding Director of Fundraising & Development, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how Nuvia grows for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Nuvia’s fundraising and development strategy.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities in Switzerland and internationally.
- Build relationships with foundations, grant-makers, philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and major donors.
- Prepare or oversee grant applications and funding proposals.
- Help establish sustainable fundraising systems, processes, and long-term development plans.
- Work closely with Nuvia’s executive leadership team on strategic growth initiatives.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
- A proven track record securing funding through grants, foundations, philanthropic organizations, corporate partnerships, major donors, or similar channels.
- Experience developing fundraising strategy and helping organizations grow.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with an international team.
Experience with the Swiss nonprofit or philanthropic landscape is highly desirable but not essential. We warmly welcome applications from qualified candidates based in Switzerland and around the world. Applicants should be comfortable collaborating across European time zones. Our working language is currently English. Knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage, but not required.
