As a volunteer, you’ll be right in the action, collecting food scraps from market-goers—the first step in a crucial process that turns waste into nutrient-rich compost. These scraps, gathered at local markets, are then processed at nearby green parks or gardens. Throughout your shift, you’ll be guided by an experienced LA Compost staff member, who will act as your Compost Manager, offering insights and helping you share the benefits of composting with the public.
