Position Summary
Support Family Services Lead in distribution of food items in weekly community food pantry. Stock food items and distribute them to community participants. Unload food items from food rescue drop-offs and maintain a clean food pantry environment. Support the pickup of food rescue items from routes within San Diego County for redistribution to those facing food insecurity. The assistant may be utilized for other assignments, as needed.
Essential Functions
Support food rescue driver picking up food from various organizations within the seven routes in San Diego County.
Record and document temperatures, total counts, and other necessary information.
Assist in unloading food at the Corps, including properly documenting the amount of food received for reporting purposes.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files, file cabinets, and drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate a computer, fax, and telephone.
Minimum Qualifications
Grant-funded position requires current homeless status.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate well in English.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is helpful.

Ability to maintain poise while working in afast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of program information.
